Art to remind you of the truth

ABOUT
My childhood dream was shattered when a tutor told me I’d never make it as an artist because I was too emotional. I began to hide with this declaration over my life by putting away my brushes and shying away from colour. It took me twenty years to realise I was living with a lie at my centre; emotions are what make people real. I picked up my brushes and decided to banish the lies and partner with the truth instead. This is why I create the art I do today.

I was born in the seaside town of Brighton, England and now I live in Bedford. I am married and have a tail-wagging, furry writing and painting companion.

I create realism, symbolic, abstract and map art in a variety of sizes. Original artwork and prints are for sale. I also create commissioned pieces.

When I am not painting I love to write books.

I discovered my love and ability of creating with words while at University (not studying creative writing!). However, it took a whole heap of courage to actually put those words into print. I know imagination is a gift; without it the world would be a very dull place indeed. I didn’t realise how important my imagination would be until I needed a place to escape from the stresses and pressures of being in the real world. I find hope when the lives of fictional characters can overcome the largest barriers. I write because I think everyone needs alternative worlds, eras and dimensions to disappear into for a while.
